Who Can Travel to the United Kingdom?
All visitors to the United Kingdom, including British nationals, must show proof of a negative Covid-19 test that must also be taken within 72 hours of arrival. Residents of the UK travelling from the red list countries are allowed to enter the country, which includes:
- South Africa
- United Arab Emirates
The Restrictions that You’ll Face!
Before entering the United Kingdom, all visitors must provide a negative test within the last 72 hours and fill out a Passenger Locator Form. Residents of the United Kingdom returning from countries on the red list must pay for a 10-day hotel quarantine.
These travellers must also buy a quarantine package before arriving in the United Kingdom, which covers their stay in hotel quarantine along with water and food. At the start of the scheme, the UK government announced that it had hired 16 different hotels that offer forty-six thousand rooms in total for the people having air ticket booking and are also subjected to quarantine.
Amber List Destinations!
Travellers from the countries listed on the amber list are eligible for the Test to Release program. It will allow them to take a PCR test after five days in quarantine and then exit quarantine and return to the community if the test is negative.
Test to Release is not available to passengers arriving from countries on the red list who stay in a quarantined hotel. The program does not apply to visitors too:
- Northern Ireland

- South Georgia
Keep in mind that these restrictions and requirements are applied to all travellers, and all airlines are also subjected to them. So, whether you choose to go for Virgin Atlantic Flights Booking or British airways, you’ll need to follow these requirements to have safe and seamless travel.
