From 28th August 2021, Pakistan International Airlines, the country's flagship carrier, has started offering cheap flights from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar to Ras Al Khaimah, which is the northernmost emirate. It is the biggest news for many Pakistani citizens who work in the UAE but couldn’t go there because of the COVID-19. If you are one of those, you can now book PIA flights from Pakistan to the UAE. But it is important to note that you will need to follow all the safety protocols that both countries have put in place to avoid all unwanted situations.
A Great News for Stranded Jobbers!
This would be a massive comfort for Pakistanis stuck in their own country and cannot return to work or join their families. Following months of passenger flight restrictions, UAE officials said earlier that travellers from Pakistan, one of the six banned nations, may return to the Emirates if certain conditions were met. Now Pakistani travellers can book PIA cheap flights to go to the UAE to resume their jobs.
COVID-19 Requirements to Fulfil!
Since the UAE relaxed entrance rules for citizens stuck in Pakistan, PIA has increased its operating capacity. Pre-entry requirements include previous clearance from the FAIC (Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship), a negative PCR test with a 48-hour validity period, and a fast PCR test six hours before the flight's departure.
PIA’s Already Operating Flights!
PIA is already offering cheap online flights to many emirates of the UAE, including Sharjah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi. These flights take off from all the major cities of Pakistan, but not all people could travel because of the low passenger capacity.
In collaboration with local laboratories, all airlines in Pakistan established facilities within airport grounds to undertake fast PCR testing by UAE directives to authorities. The officials from the PIA said that they recognize a strong potential in Ras Al Khaimah since there is now a lot of demand for air travel from Pakistan. The airline is now introducing big aircraft such as the Boeing 777 for this route to satisfy the demand. The airline has also expanded the PIA flights capacity for Sharjah from several Pakistan cities, including Sialkot, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Islamabad.
